No, though I must admit I never knew it did that in the original. Is it a good feature? I don't think armour makes that much difference anyway, but if you think it would make a better game, I'll add it.

That seems odd to me - unless it's "power" armor and the force field charge was going to be reduced, the only part that would be weaker would be the part that got shot, right?
If there was a reduction, I would think it would be minor.
I wasn't really suggesting we add this, I'm fairly neutral on the subject. For tactical reasons I was simply wondering if it applied as I'm almost certain this was the method used in the original Laser Squad. I seem to recall it showed separate front, back, left and right armour values in the unit information stats which are reduced after taking damage.
To be fair though I don't think it is so unrealistic to imagine chest plate armour for example cracking and becoming weaker after taking a few hits. Or imagine in game using a weak weapon against a heavily armoured foe, it seems a bit unfair if units can be invulnerable. I'd prefer to know that if I shot the enemy enough times I'd at least have a chance of blasting away some armour and eventually doing some damage.
